About Course

Who Is This Course Suitable For?

This online French for Kids course is suitable for children aged 9-12 years old who are at a beginners level. It is also suitable for children who have a basic understanding of French and want to widen their vocabulary and fluency. An Intermediate Course is also available for students who have already learned the basics.

Why Should My Child Learn French?

French is one of the world’s fastest growing languages with more than 270 million native speakers! It is the 6th most spoken language in the world and the second most learned foreign language in the world.

Children’s brains absorb languages easily and research has shown that exposure to multiple languages at an early age is hugely beneficial to a child’s overall cognitive development.

French is a beautiful language to learn. Not only will the ability to speak French open up many doors for your child, it will also make learning other languages easier.

How Does It Work?

This 6-week online French for Kids course is delivered live each week through Zoom. The classes take place on Saturdays at 1pm, starting on February 13th.

After each class, relevant notes and resources will be uploaded onto a virtual classroom environment so that the students can practice their French at home. Students and parents will also be able to use the virtual classroom environment to ask the tutor questions if and when they arise.

Who Is The Teacher?

Shane is a fully qualified and experienced post-primary French and Irish teacher. He holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree and Professional Masters of Education from the University of Limerick. Shane currently teaches full-time in a Limerick City secondary school and offers both French and Irish grinds to students from 1st to 6th year.
