Primary school grinds are available to children from Senior Infants to 6th class in Reading/Literacy Support, Maths Tuition and Specialist Dyslexia Tuition.
Classes are delivered in-person by a fully qualified and experienced primary school tutor in Dooradoyle, Limerick.
How It Works
In-person primary school grinds are available on a one-to-one basis or in small groups of 2-3 children.
Each programme is 16 weeks long and classes run for 1 hour on the same day and time each week.
Due to our flexible format, parents get to choose the day and time that suits them best – please submit an enquiry via the form below and we’ll be in touch with our availability.
Typically, we cover ONE subject during each class, i.e. Reading OR Maths support. This is because children who have fallen behind in a given subject generally need the full class time (1 hour) to learn a new topic, concept or skill.
If a child is within the average ability range and simply needs a boost in learning, it may be possible to cover two subjects during a single class. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis
What We Cover
Lessons are delivered according to the needs and abilities of each individual child.
Reading/literacy tuition often includes instruction in phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, writing, creative writing, handwriting and spelling.
Maths tuition often focuses on building foundational skills in areas such as multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages and problem solving.
All of our classes are delivered using a variety of child-centred, multisensory activities and games to make the experience fun and enjoyable while developing key skills for academic success.
Assessments can be given to identify primary learning needs.
Specialist Dyslexia Tuition
For children who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or who have significant reading difficulties, we offer a specialist programme which uses the renowned Orton-Gillingham approach. This phonic-based multisensory approach, which is considered the gold-standard in literacy tuition and intervention, helps children to improve their reading, spelling and handwriting skills.
Specialist Dyslexia Tuition is available to children from 1st to 6th class.
Each programme is 16 weeks long and classes run for 1 hour on the same day and time each week.
Note: these classes are not suitable for secondary school students.

Meet The Teacher
Emer is a fully qualified, experienced and Garda vetted primary school teacher. She has extensive experience teaching children of all ages and abilities in a variety of classroom settings. Emer is Premier Tuition Centre’s specialist literacy tutor, having undergone training with the Dyslexia Association of Ireland and the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Her approach involves child-centred multisensory methodologies that cater to the diverse learning preferences of visual, auditory and tactile/kinaesthetic learners.
