Description

Tuition is available to primary school children from Senior Infants to 6th Class in Irish, English and Maths. We offer one-to-one and small group tuition (2-4 students). This ensures that every child receives the individual attention they need.

All of our lessons are personalised to suit each child’s specific learning requirements and classes are taught using a variety of multi-sensory, active-based learning approaches.

Who Are These Classes Suitable For?

Primary school grinds are suitable for:

  1. Children who have fallen behind in school or in a certain subject area.
  2. Children who lack confidence in school or in a certain subject area.
  3. Children who excel at school and would like to be challenged to extend their knowledge and understanding.
  4. Children who have a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia or dyscalculia.

How it Works

Primary school children can enrol at any time of the year. Typically, students enrol for tuition in one subject, such as Irish, English or Maths. Each programme is 16 weeks long and classes run for one hour on a weekly basis (amounting to a total of 16 hours). Some children enrol for a double programme, i.e. Irish and Maths. These programmes are also 16 weeks long but consist of two hour long classes on a weekly basis (a total of 32 hours). These classes can be taken on the same or separate days.

We offer online and face-to-face grinds.

Online Grinds

  • Online grinds are delivered live using face-to-face video conferencing
  • Classes can be accessed via a computer, laptop or tablet. No other equipment is required
  • Homework, assignments and class notes are shared with the students via a virtual classroom environment

Who Are The Teachers?

All of our classes are taught by fully qualified, experienced and Garda Vetted teachers who have received specialist training in areas such as assessment, dyslexia, literacy and numeracy.

Academic Assessments

Primary school pupils are assessed prior to commencing tuition. Using a combination of standardised and diagnostic tests, these assessments identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses in a particular area and allow us to develop a personalised programme of tuition which targets their specific learning requirements. Students are re-assessed at the end of their tuition programme in order to ensure that the learning targets set at the beginning have been achieved.

Academic assessments are also available to pupils and parents who do not want to commit to a programme of tuition.

Please note that academic assessments are currently only available in English and Maths.
