Our exam-focused 6th Year Leaving Cert Irish grinds, which are delivered by an experienced teacher and state examiner, contain a MAXIMUM OF 5 STUDENTS PER GROUP. This allows us to provide personalised attention, feedback and support so that every student we work with can maximise their grades, grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
Students who enrol mid-term will get access to all of the previous notes and class recordings so that they can catch up before joining the live classes.
Higher Level: The focus for this term is on preparation for the mock exams. Students will practice exam paper questions for all sections of the Leaving Cert Irish exam (reading, writing, listening) and they will also engage in some exam preparation for the oral exam (worth 40%). Individual feedback will be given to students on all written work completed, including homework.
The Irish Oral Exam takes place between Saturday April 12th and Thursday April 17th. Our Oral Preparation Course is delivered by a highly qualified teacher who has extensive experience examining these important exams. Throughout the course, students cover all aspects of the Irish oral exam, including the straith pictiúr. They will participate in mini mock oral exams with the tutor who will give them personalised feedback on their strengths and areas to work on. Each week, students will receive comprehensive notes on the topics covered which includes sample questions and answers, useful phrases, and key vocab. This exam is worth 40% of students overall marks so doing well in this can make a significant impact on a students’ overall grade. Suitable for Higher and Ordinary level students as content and material will be differentiated for each level.
Shane is a fully qualified and experienced secondary school Irish teacher. With almost 10 years experience teaching and examining the Junior and Leaving Cert syllabus, Shane has an in-depth understanding of what students need to know in order to succeed in these state exams.
Shane holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree and Professional Masters of Education from the University of Limerick. His Leaving Cert Irish grinds cover all aspects of the syllabus, including reading, writing, speaking and listening, grammar work, vocabulary development, sentence structure and essay writing.
With a passion for teaching, Shane goes above and beyond, investing significant time and effort into crafting engaging classes and providing invaluable notes, cheat sheets and memory aids to ensure his students reach their full potential. Shane is a registered member of the Teaching Council and Garda vetted.
