Parents often tell us that they struggle to get their children to read at home. When they ask us for advice we tell them two things:

1. Make sure the reading material is pitched at their level – too easy is boring and too difficult will frustrate them.

2. Make it fun!

I saw this activity on @primarylearners Instagram page and thought it was a really cool game that you could adapt to suit any learning objective – it could be used to teach a variety of different words/sight vocabulary, grammar rules or even multiplication/division tables. The possibilities are endless!

Children love dice games so this activity is really fun for them. They also love the thrill of potentially landing on a square that asks them to do something silly which keeps them engaged.
