Study Tips for Midterm Break

The mid-term break can be a fantastic opportunity to catch up on any work missed during the school year. However, it’s also important to use this time to rest and recuperate so that you don’t burnout before the Christmas tests.

If you want to make the most of your mid-term break while still maintaining a healthy sense of balance, try these 4 study tips:

Study Tip #1: Make a Study Plan

One of the most effective ways of managing your time is through the creation of a study plan or timetable. This allows you to schedule time for studying but also other things that are important to you, such as meeting your friends. We have lots of advice on creating the perfect timetable on our website here.

Study Tip #2: Implement a New Study Habit

One of the fastest ways to change your results is to change your habits. If you want to implement a new study habit, start working on this over the mid-term break so that it is well on the way to becoming a habit by the time you start back at school.

Study Tip #3: Watch Your Self-Talk

The way we talk to ourselves can have a powerful impact on our results. While positive self-talk can lead to positive results, negative self-talk often leads to negative results. If you regularly criticise yourself for not doing better in school or for failing an exam, check out our free guidebook “The Ultimate Guide to Study Affirmations” which will help you to turn this around.

Study Tip #4: Get Support

If you’re struggling with a particular subject at school, don’t wait until the last minute to look for help. The subjects at school are cumulative which means that each year you are building upon the concepts and topics taught the previous year. However, if you struggled to grasp a particular concept then you don’t have this prior knowledge to build upon and you’ll be playing catch-up ever since. If you’re thinking about getting extra support, we are offering trial classes in a range of subjects, just click on this like to find out more.
